The Fall Champs are here for championship Monday!
Congratulations to S.T. for closing out an undefeated and long tumultuous season to achieve their second franchise championship.
Like the Rage and the Vikings in years’ past, they have completed the “Champion Slam.” The slam in which a team wins both league titles in a calendar year.
This insane run of theirs all started in the spring last season. With a loss on opening day to the eventual runners-up in the Rage, ST has since spun off 19 straight victories and 2 titles to get to where are today…on the cusp of the term “Dynasty.”
This season they took down the Scoregasms on Opening Day. Then shutout Rage in Week Two. In Week Three they survived a scare from fellow acronymic foe, LOD. The following week they got back on track and blew out Shake n’ Bake. In Week Five, a championship preview, they bested the Raiders by just eight points. In an AB crossover battle, they flexed their muscles on the B version of ST. And finally in the regular season finale, with both teams shorthanded, they endured another tough battle this time against the B Champs, Most Wanted to finish undefeated. The playoffs took place on a snowy and rainy day in December; the field was disheveled and the emotions were high. With an easy first round dub over Most Wanted, they survived an attack for the ages against LOD. This set up a square off against their newest arch rivals for seasons to come; the Raiders. With the world watching on the live streams, ST did their job and took home another one..another title that is. The Raiders fought hard but at the end of the day, weren’t enough to take down the juggernaut known as ST. Andrew Duval (#9, far left) was named tournament MVP (yawn), with huge contributions on both offense and defense.
Today is a day to celebrate not just a victory for ST, but a victory for another completion of another session (season 24). This session was a session of odd and unusual circumstances. New management, new employees, new state regulations, and lastly a new home. It took a lot to get this season moving and we truly appreciate every one of you that made it a success. Sure there was a small hiccup at the end but we will all learn from it and get better as athletes and as people. See you all in the Spring. Thank you everyone.
And finally one last Congratulations for the fellas of Solo Touch… the belt stays home for another season. Enjoy and continue to besmirch it as you will.
